Standing Liberty Quarters (1916-1930)

Type 1 vs Type 2 (1917)
In 1917, the design was modified. Type 1 (early 1917) shows Liberty with exposed breast; Type 2 added chain mail covering. Both types exist for 1917 from all three mints.

Why 1932-D and 1932-S Are Valuable
No quarters were minted in 1933 due to the Great Depression. The 1932-D and 1932-S had the lowest mintages of the entire silver Washington series. These are the only two dates where even well-worn examples command significant premiums.
